O que é Canabinoides Sintéticos SR-x

A série SR vem da Sanofi Recherche e tem uma história que vale conhecer. O SR141716A, mais conhecido como rimonabanto, foi o primeiro antagonista seletivo do receptor CB1 e chegou ao mercado europeu em 2006 como medicamento para obesidade.

A lógica era direta: se ativar o CB1 abre o apetite, bloqueá-lo deveria fechá-lo. Funcionou — e trouxe junto efeitos psiquiátricos graves, incluindo depressão e ideação suicida. O medicamento foi retirado do mercado em 2008.

O episódio é um dos mais citados na farmacologia canabinoide, porque mostrou que o sistema endocanabinoide sustenta regulação emocional e não apenas apetite. O SR144528, antagonista do CB2 da mesma série, segue em uso como ferramenta de laboratório.
